The Joint Council of Extension Professions is pleased to present a timely and informative staff development offering. Please feel free to pass along this opportunity to any extension professional you think may be interested.
Navigating Uncertainty: Understanding Policy, Funding, and the Value of Extension
This session builds on the program offered in July 2025 and stands fully on its own. Whether or not you participated previously, you will gain practical insights and timely perspective. In periods of funding uncertainty, we also have opportunity—an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the policy processes that shape our work and to more effectively communicate the value of Extension to decision makers. While the specific challenges may shift from year to year—and even within a single policy cycle—our responsibility to articulate Extension’s impact remains constant.
Join Extension professionals from across the country for a timely and insightful conversation exploring the latest developments influencing federal funding and policy decisions. With support and direction of Dr. Doug Steele, Vice President for Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, this session will examine how collaboration, shared knowledge, and strategic engagement strengthen us during times of change. You’ll hear directly from leaders closely engaged with the current and emerging landscape of Extension funding. Together, we will consider the actions we can take—now and moving forward—to clearly demonstrate the vital role that Cooperative Extension and the Land-grant System play in strengthening communities nationwide.
Let’s learn. Let’s connect. Let’s ed-vocate—together.
